Mans Best Friend by ALIX O'NEIL

Mans' best friend is a painting of a German Shepherd Dog who use to work with his handler in the prison's. The handler has had quite a few working dog's during his career and this GSD was by far his favorite. He was described to me as a dog with a big heart, courageous, loyal and just a bit cheeky!! While the reference photo was being taken the handler said he was wrestling slightly with the dog as he was pretty sure the dog wanted to have a bit of a taste of the photographer !!! I made sure I captured the confidence and brazen nature of this dog. His eyes have an unwavering glare & the colours I have chosen suggest the vibrant nature of this dog. I originally painted this German Shepherd in a portrait with his handler and enjoyed capturing such a bold dog that I felt I should honour him and paint him in his own portrait. Purchase Mans' Bestfriend and never feel alone.
Mans' Best friend is painted in Veridian Green & Pyroll Orange.
